The role of housing research in mitigating inequality – Interview with Professor Duncan Maclennan

This is the second of a series of short films about the plenary presentations given at the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) Conference, held in Edinburgh earlier this summer. In this interview, Professor Duncan Maclennan will reflect on the role that housing research can play in mitigating the growth in inequality in many western countries.

Duncan Maclennan is Director of the Scottish Cities Knowledge Centre and the Centre for Housing Research at the University of St Andrews, and an international expert on the development of cities, the renewal of neighbourhoods and the economics of housing. He has advised governments on housing policy in the UK, Poland, France, Sweden, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada and Australia. He has also served as Principal Consultant to the OECD. In 1997 he was awarded a CBE in recognition of his contribution to housing and renewal policies in the UK.
