Watch again as our very own I-SPHERE PhD student Frank presented our May seminar on the findings of their research to date, which is focused on health’s role in homelessness prevention.
Frank shared some initial results from focus groups conducted with frontline healthcare workers; Fand explores what enables healthcare workers to identify homelessness risk and the different responses workers have to housing need and risk of homelessness. Frank also reflects on how their research could influence policy implementation, particularly the ‘ask and act’ duties in the recently passed Housing (Scotland) Bill 2025 and how to enable healthcare workers to enhance their engagement with homelessness prevention.
Frank is a registered mental health nurse with experience working in crisis mental health services in both NHS England and NHS Scotland. Alongside their PhD they also provide mental health support to university students in receipt of Disabled Students Allowance.
